EarthShare of Texas was founded in 1992 as the Environmental Fund for Texas, to further the work of Texas non-profit environmental organizations by representing and raising funds for these groups in workplace giving payroll contribution plans.

In 2002, we became an affiliate organization of EarthShare of Texas, while retaining our separate 501(c)(3) status. We represent more than 70 of the leading local, state, national and international conservation and environmental organizations working to preserve and protect our natural resources and human health in public and private workplace giving campaigns throughout the state.

In recent years, we have expanded our efforts beyond the boundaries of traditional workplace giving. We have developed cause marketing relationships with several large corporations, most notably H-E-B and Reliant Energy, and continue to seek out other similar relationships. (Revenues from these activities are shared among our member groups.) We have also convened “Green Team” meetings to facilitate peer-to-peer learning among corporate environmental representatives, and coordinate volunteering opportunities for interested corporations.

In addition to representing our member groups, we manage and serve as the fiscal agent for other workplace giving campaigns, both public and private throughout Texas, including the City of Austin’s Combined Charities Campaign for city employees.
